Vow of Silence is over

Hello!  Sorry I kind of went radio silent for a while after the holiday season.  I have been posting new things up in my store, but I haven't really got to create anything new lately, so that is why I have been silent.

I might be making something new this weekend.  Not something that I will be selling on my shop, but if it turns out ok, I might make them for my friends if they want.  We will see :)  Its gonna be a fun experiment.  Ill keep ya posted and if it does turn out, Ill post a pic. :D  Maybe Ill even post one if it doesnt.

New ideas!

Man so my craft fair earlier this month gave me a BUNCH of new ideas to add to my arsenal of items in my shop.  I am so excited to start working on them!  Unfortunately they won't be up on my shop until the new year, but still VERY exciting.  One of them I am definitely making one for myself.  I had someone ask for clip on earrings, so I am going to start adding those to my shop and possibly have the option of getting them as regular earrings too.

I also got new ideas for gift boxes for next year.  I am so very excited!  I will be posting blogs up on the making of the new items when I start making them so you can see them before they are put up on my shop.

Restoring Earth at the Field Museum in Chicago

Wow!  I went to this exhibit this weekend to check out the new Restoring Earth exhibit that I worked on. It is so cool.  You get to learn how they are helping save the rainforests and there is all of the different species of birds and moths and butterflies... and there is this big interactive part where you answer 5 questions and based on that you get this little collection that goes up on the big screen.  And then you can stand in the beam of light in front of the big screen and interactively go through all of the different collections that people have made.  ALSO they email it to you so you can customize it and see all of the other collections.

Heres a link to all of the collections:

If you see butterflies, moths or the iPod and speaker.. those are mine.  :D

First Craft Fair

So I had my very first craft fair experience this past weekend.  It was a  lot of fun.  Kind of stressful at times, but overall great!  I learned a few things on what to take next time.  And also got some ideas for new items for my shop.  I shared a booth with my mom and she did very well!  I was so happy for her.  I really wanted her to do well because after the craft fair last year she was so down, it broke my heart.  She said for my first one, I did very well too, which I didn't think I did since I had a lot of stuff still on my table when I left, but I did make a bit of green, so thats cool.  :)  I can at least afford groceries this week now. YAY!

I am going to be posting up a couple of new Christmas items this week, once I get photos taken of them.  I am very excited to see them sell.  They are too cute not to.

Saving the planet for the holidays!!!

I just put up a new tutorial on my "Tutorial" page.  This is will help you save the planet a little this holiday season and even for those birthdays you have throughout the year.

It shows you how to take old unwanted jewelry boxes and make them adorable to keep reusing so you dont have to waste money and paper with gift wrapping that just gets tossed after the gift is open!

Heres what one of mine turned out like:
